This section is meant to give you additional official context over the books I’ve written, and the manuscripts that are in progress. I finished four manuscripts from the time I was deployed onboard USS COLE. Two of my books were released in 2023 year. I’ll be updating this page as the other books get closer to the finish line. Writing the manuscript is one thing but releasing it to the world it is another beast altogether.
My writing style is down-to-earth, with sarcastic overtones. Much like the person I am in real life. English is my 3rd language, so there is a non-zero chance you will find idiomatic blunders on my writing style. I had made my peace with it.
Some might find my books provocative, and they are actually meant to be that way. The reason you might find them provocative it is because I pull the reader in all directions and bring them full circle back to their own persona. It's a wild introspective ride.
The result of this unabashed introspection is mean to foster critical thinking paired with intellectual honesty. That is another reason why I put warnings on my books covers. Also, because there are thousands of easter-eggs hidden all over the book, to include the covers. Even the inevitable language blunders are part of the entire process. My mind is a scary place.
The topics I've written about have captured my attention due to the geopolitical situation around the world. And of course, that includes our beloved United States of America.
The proceeds for my books are meant to go to my daughter's piggy bank; but more importantly i write these topics because there is an important message I want to convey. I don't have an editor. I know, I know, cardinal sin... but the reality is that it would take me a longer to explain to somebody what's in my mind than actually write about it.
If there are any missing blunders despite all my effort to identify them. Well, that's why there are second editions. But I would submit that if a person is so shallow as to burn a forest to save a tree (e.g. get fixated in a typo or small syntax error), then they are not ready to understand my books' larger context.
Nobody is perfect, we all have idiosyncrasies - and I realize I have plenty myself. Despite that, I've seen a thing or two (actually I've seen a lot of more than most people would imagine).
In other words, if am writing something in exuberant detail it is not because I simply like the sound of my own voice (which i do, actually); but more importantly because there is a reason for it. Nothing that has happened in the world has surprised me, and to be honest i wish i was wrong. But if this trend continues, the future is terrifying. Hence, I write about it.
I don't' know how far my words will ultimately travel. But what I do know is that when historians rewind the tape, and revise the events we are living through today, I don't' want to be one of those willful ignorant people who was content enough to see the world burn - without even trying to prevent that world-wide arson chain of events.
Thank you for taking the time to read my thoughts. I don't take for granted the fact you're spending these moments with me. HLC
