Putting this arts program in context

SHARe YOUR artistic STORY with us

Let's establish some context.

Art is meant to be shared and appreciated!  Being an artist in any of its forms is one of the traits that makes us uniquely human.  Art is about expression, inspiration, and leaving an impression that transcends our very lives.  The beauty of art is in the "eye of the beholder," yet art can be manifested in so many ways and appreciated by either or all of our senses.

However, art alone is intrinsically self-sustainable.  There is no shortage of exceedingly talented artists who are struggling to make ends meet.  And showcasing your art can be exceedingly expensive to the artists. Further, there is a misconception that artists should be giving away their craft for free.  Although art is meant be shared, there is some sort of investment needed (monetary of otherwise) by the artist to perform or express their craft.

I am well aware of this fact firsthand.  This became ever more evident as I launched my debut book, and my second title.  Back when my daughter started expressing artistically there were some (perhaps) well intentioned people willing to promote her art - but wanted something in exchange.  Generally, these exchanges in promise for the "potential of exposure" are provided with a four-figure price tag in USD currency.

That is why I decided to create my very own platform.  It is worth repeating that a lot of (perhaps) well intentioned people have come from far and wide offering their marketing services.  Some are better than others, and a few are pretty abysmal.  This reality should be expected.  But that does not make it any less frustrating, especially if you're still having to weight in sharing your art runs the risk of make you overspend.

WHY I AM MAKING THIS DATABASE

Sadly, many artists have to choose between creating what their art is urging them to express, but just settle for "what seems marketable at that moment in time."  I have met so many artists who simply could no longer afford to create art because they had to make very hard choices as far as making a living and the time, they could invest doing what they love.  Sadly, a loft of them had to give up their dream's.

I wanted to do my part to change that.  My platform, however, relatively small as I type these words, has been growing. And I wanted to use this opportunity to collaborate with other artists and art lovers out there.  Many of us had to go through a similar path, so I know they have a story that is both inspiring and for many of their fans, largely unknown.

It is sad that a lot of people out there consuming or enjoying art, do not really sit to think about the story behind that artist.  Or what it took for that artist to make that art piece, capture that photograph, publish that book, perform that scene, etc.  We largely only get to see the end product, but the journey to get to that point is both grueling and worth reviewing.

That is exactly what the Half Life Crisis Artists and Art Lovers Network is all about.  I wanted to create a database where i share the stories from all those artists I've met in my life, and that we have collaborated directly.  With their permission I want to tell their story in the best I can - which is by dedicating an entire page on this very platform.

Why? Aren't there dozens of social media sites that do exactly that?  No, they do not - not. in the same manner as this, and most definitely not consolidated. Also, those artists are getting this page done by me without any monetary cost to them.

But this exclusive database is not only open to artist, but also to reputable entities who supported our art, or have collaborated with us in some shape or form. Not everybody I've worked with will get a page - only those whom I would give an unequivocal 5-star review.  These pages are about quality, not quantity.  Especially for the "Art Lovers" portion, if their appreciation for art seems to be purely monetary and transactional, you won't find them here.

Artists and Art Lovers get a page hosted in our page. This page will feature their story, links to all their "products & services" to include their social media accounts.  You can search examples of what is included in each database.  This database is open to the world!

Every database has a set format for consistency and ensure that everybody has a fair representation.  We will coordinate together for the first part of the page, and then once it goes live forever.  Unless you want me to take it down, or in the unlikely case I cannot in good conscience endorse you.

You are welcome to use this page as your online presence if you don't have a website yet.  The page is optimized for all devices (mobile, tablet, desktop, laptop).

All I really ask in return is to is to please follow us on Instagram (primarily), and any of the other social sites we have in common.  The more we get to share our online presence, the larger our combined audiences will become.  and the best thing I won't be selling you stuff about it.

This is first come first serve.  It is open to all my friends, relatives, acquaintances and other people we become friends.   I look forward to capture and share your story!  HLC
