When Sammy feels like paining, it fills my heart with joy! This is Sammy’s first collection for 2021. Hope this will be one of more for this year!
Sammy BeeZee first collection for February 2021.
I stopped today to get a bunch of new acrylics, art supplies and canvases for Sammy to express herself. This time I got some frames with different dimensions so she can get to choose what her inspiration calls for. As I came through the door, she chose right away the two 12 x 24 inches canvases and got right to work. She was very excited about it. We still had a lot of old tubes of acrylic that needed to be depleted as well as and some new ones that Sammy wanted to experiment with. This time her collection was all about Storms and Nature. One of the pictures are in cue for Mom’s new office because it reminds her (mom) of the sea. The other is at Sammy’s room along with so many of her previous work.

Nature Power | “Sammy Original” Collection JAN 2021
A small collection of two pieces, 12″ x 24″ in landscape. This collection also seems to be inspired by her observances of nature. The first picture she chose very earthly tones and the second one is more of a maritime tone. In the pictures she juxtaposes the power of nature at land and sea. The latter mom immediately commandeered for her own office. I normally prefer to put the collections together so you can see them as they are intended, but I don’t intend to die on that hill. But I digress, for this collection Sammy chose different color pallets for each picture but used the same basic palette for both paintings to create a link between both pictures theme… even though they do look quite different, but they are different faces of the same coin.
This is Sammy’s little corner after she signed and was letting the paint fully dry. She has gotten a lot more art materials, but this week we had to focus more on her schoolwork rather than artwork. It was very busy for us both… I’m sure we’ll have a chance to re-address her artistic call very soon. I do not like to rush Sammy, I let her tell me when she’s ready to paint, then I’m happy to oblige. She does not like to paint alone; she likes me to be next to her when she creates her artwork. And that makes me very happy.

Inspiration: Sammy has quite an eye to find beauty if chaos. This collection is no different. She has indeed found ways to express herself by the choice of color and brushes. I never know what she will come out until the brushes are down. All her paintings look “different” depending on the angle you see them. In this case Sammy is abstractly depicting a sunset over the water and visions through the dense foliage of nature. There are overtones of snow and winter. Likely reminiscent of the melting snow for days before her painting. Sammy enhanced the texture of her painting with different brush strokes combining different colors on this particular palette.

Big Wave

Inspiration: Sammy loves the water… and the color blue. She used different shades of blue and earth tones to create the wave formation and crashing it with lighter colors of white and metallic white on the side of the picture. As it is usual, she will juxtapose some glowing object somewhere in the picture, this time beneath the crashing wave, as though it remains safely despite the power of the water crashing upon the shore. Normally she would use this by picking a primary color such red and blend with other primary colors in the final picture. As with any of Sammy’s painting her choice of acrylic, texture and color does change based on the light conditions and opens a new dimension from different angles. Pictures alone do not make it justice to the actual painting.
