Democrats remain constantly outmaneuvered because they lack a unified message. If what I tell you hurt your feelings, that is why you remain outflanked by MAGA.

This is why the Dems miss the mark
Short answer, because they are smug. Sorry not sorry if it hurts your feeling if you are indeed a Dem.
BUTT HURT WARNING – When I am talking about Dems in this article, I am mostly referring to those put in charge, and their staffs. I know a lot of Democrats are just as frustrated as everybody else paying attention to current events.
I’m an independent and I have been dealing with folks on the Right and Left for years. Truth to be told a lot of Dems are insufferable. And that of course validates their opposition – especially MAGA’s – misperceptions of their doctrines. Does that make some of MAGA’s assertions and misinterpretations real? Not at all, but the cultural shift has evolved (or devolved) to the point those of us in the middle are witnessing the insanity in stereo.
That said, let’s delve into the longer answer.
Dems you remain outflanked because you’re reactive not proactive to adversarial tactics that have been already telegraphed - sometimes for years. You fall into the trap with very low hanging fruit as bait, and act “surprised” when the effect from the obvious cause manifests. Meanwhile some of us warning you about it keep pulling our hair out in sheer frustration as we witness your ineptitude – because you repeatedly fall for infantile tricks and shiny objects intentionally placed for you to chase.
Yes, this is especially true for those holding office, seeking office, or who have a platform with a sizable audience. I’ve written extensively about it, but I’ll repeat it. Your opposition is playing both sides simultaneously. As they feed information to their own base, they drop “clues” for you to pick upon and run with them as shiny objects. And you all fall for it – constantly. It’s both fascinating and frustrating. And I repeat it, because you tend not to listen or forget what has been advised to you.
Dems, I’ve talked about this even with elected leaders and their staffs. Many of those folks are insufferable, they listen very little, they talk over you, and often fight even those who are agreeing with them… with very few exceptions. I’ll tell you more about it in a future article. If they treat these those who mostly agree with them, how well do you think they negotiate the intricacies to understand those on the other side of the aisle? They give the MAGA a validation point that characterizes “all Dems” with… (insert negative epithet). And if you feel butt-hurt about it, guess what? MAGA is weaponizing that thin-skin against you.
I’ve confronted elected leaders and their staff with this question: What is the unified message from the Democrats? I’ll save you time. The answer is, there isn’t one. And yes, they have acknowledged it, but don’t do anything about it. MAGA on the other hand, no matter how fringe some of their base might get, they do have a unified message. That is the first step in controlling the narrative. And of course, that bleeds to the next part, don’t take their vote for granted. Dems tend to take for granted their “perceived base” – and the numbers don’t lie; most registered Dems end to stay home on election day.
I suggest out unified message should be:
WE are the UNITED States of America!
It is simple, and true, and most importantly unifying – regardless of political party. From there you can derive all kinds of things that resonate with the different segments of the vast array of American culture. And yes, that includes the opposition.

Falling into the Divisive Trap
I’ll write in the future another article about PSYOPS, but until then you have to realize that a lot of what we’re seeing is make-believe. It’s theater, it’s a performance… and YOU are part of it, whether you know it or not. Yes, you and I and everybody you love or hate is playing part on this sick game only very few have the control over. How is that they control it? Through legislation and those inept few with placement and access to the steering wheel of modern society. Does that make you mad? It should.
Yet there is another layer Dems are missing. If you are bidding to be an elected leader, your constituency also includes those who didn’t vote for you, and that for some reason many of them hate your guts. Some might hate you just because you’re a Dem, even if they cannot point to or articulate any of your policies – or why they objectively disagree with you for that matter. And if you show them or are perceived as though you’re weak, or do not answer to their concerns, your silence become deafening, and de-facto validates any of their misconceptions to keep hating your guts. Do you understand? The divide in the rhetoric shows you do not, that is why I am spelling it out.
For the United States of America that means that Dems also need to be very inclusive of MAGA. I know, I know, the legislative vote are through party lines – and we are more polarized than ever before. But the reason is because you’re not broadcasting your message where it matters… where is that? Wherever MAGA gets their “trusted” news. Most MAGA folks are not stupid, but they do receive a redacted version of reality through their favorite talking heads, who share a unified message – which is aligned with the primary MAGA message… thus making the correct and full context answer counterintuitive. And yes, these folks will go to the ballot, while most Dems we are lucky if they remember to vote at all.
And why are Dems so hard to show up to the ballot? Because Leftie elected leaders and many with a microphone and or a TV show in mainstream media suck at messaging. And they tend to ignore so many very smart influencers and internet media personalities who are doing an amazing job to bring the ground truth to their audiences. But even if they have 6-million subscribers, they are still essential puddles against the unified message from the opposition.
But the Dems forget that the opposition messaging vehicles also includes AM radio, and the pulpit, and their small community newsletters. Dems don’t usually consume any of those, therefore their messaging does not respond to the needs of that constituency outside their party lines… and they are also often oblivious to the information breakdown inside their own party lines - and the independents. And I have met and spoken with some people working on the campaigns, they are very nice folks, but they seldom understand the overarching geopolitical weight of their roles. But who understands it? The adversarial regimes who are propping MAGA.
What does that mean? It means that MAGA just so happens to be repeating our adversarial regimes talking points verbatim – even if they have not realized it. Yes, it is packaged with an American flag and other symbols, but dress it anyway you want it, once you get out of your partisan bubble you can see that the very same playbook has been used for decades abroad… even if the flags are different. Same playbook different look… Once you see it, you cannot unsee it. And by the way, seeing it is how many Ultra-MAGAs became ex-MAGAs.

Bridging the political gap
I told you that as an independent I hear the misconceptions in stereo, that means both from the Left and Right the level of miscommunication ranges from comical to insidious. But for many of us in the middle, unless we are politically savvy a half-baked argument might sound rational based on who is sane-washing the content – regardless of political party – and sway the political opinion widely. Failing to “dare” understanding the other side makes you easily manipulated – because now you’re letting your assumptions pose as actual knowledge. For example, a lot of the people on the right listen to certain podcasts most lefties would never listen to – and vice versa. Their understanding of one another then becomes an assumption, not a perception of actual reality. And of course that is highly exploitable.
How often do you see a well-prepared Dem figure going to a podcast, or a “opposition” channel such as OAN, Newsmax, or even FOX? Let alone talking with any of the shit-poster podcasts in the bro-universe, or actually interacting with the rural communities in a way that meets them at least half-way into their world. You’ll be surprised how much non-extremist right-leaning folks they crave actually hearing from their elected leaders to see if they actually make sense. Just don’t say “orange man bad” – it won’t go well for you – attack the problem not the person, even if you disagree with the person. They might (or likely) be hesitant at first, but remember, they have no reason to like or trust you unless YOU bridge that gap. At the Dem town halls I’ve attended they – perhaps unintentionally – talk shit about MAGA. That’s no way to bridge the gap.
MAGA in the USA is mostly tuned to the EMOTIONS derived by the fervor or their “convictions.” It is about FEELING, not so much about facts. And if you’ve ever debated a MAGA person their arguments tend to be all over the place, and they will hurl ever wedge issue talking point VERBATIM from their trusted “source” – whether it makes sense or not, even if it contradicts itself repeatedly in the same argument line. I know, because I’ve had such conversation, and to be honest it can be tragically amusing. But underneath that there is a very important reality, MAGA as a movement is controlling the narrative, in spite of actual facts and truth.
When it comes to independents, we are frustrated with MAGA and frustrated with the Dems for a very different reason. MAGA falls for the theatrics along with the dog and pony show used to gain their concurrence, and the Dems often fail to raise to the occasion in a way that earns the support from those who want to DO something about how divided our country has become. MAGA folks are increasingly indoctrinated to hate Dems, and even equate them to “devil worshipers” (despite the fact many Dems are God-fearing themselves) – and any other analog that dehumanizes them. And once that happens they are not going to be receptive to what you say. Therefore, the game is not to talk the talk, but to walk the walk. Answer their questions even if they don’t ask you directly.
What questions should you answer? Well, that is very easy. Look at what MAGA-handlers are hurling their way, what is making their base angry, and set the record straight. Don’t need to be emotional, don’t need to be smug, just clearly explains why a claim is false – if it is indeed false, and how they can validate that information through a source they trust. Remember, MAGA folks tend to be cynical AF, use that. An ex-MAGA tends to be extremely vocal against MAGA because they felt played, and if they were given the opportunity to find redemption – you can bet your ass they will use that same energy against those who lied to them. And they know where the bodies are buried.
That does not mean ex-MAGAs will turn democrats or liberals. Don’t be naïve to think that will be an easy transition. Some ex-MAGAs do turn liberal, but not always. And no, being ex-MAGA should not require becoming a liberal as the alternative. But there is a reason why the number of ex-MAGAs is increasing. And yes, some of those Ex-MAGAs would be laughing at the mere words I am writing here. I’ve seen it more times that I care to repeat.
Why do you think is that? Because they don’t want to admit they were betrayed by a movement they thought was a very pivotal part of their identity. But when push comes to shove, and usually it is because it hits them personally, they swing the pendulum from pro-MAGA to ex-MAGA quite fast. If you’re MAGA reading this, you might be next… just depends on what thing Trump does to personally hurt you and piss you off enough. Not a matter of if but when. I told that to other ex-Ultra-MAGAs.
But right now, most on-the-fence-MAGAs don’t really have a home to go to. Much like a toxic relationship where the victim has no place to go, they might return and experience Stockholm syndrome, because leaving their “community” is terrifying. Especially if they are a purple dot in a sea of red. Dems forget that these folks are also part of the electorate. But they need to have that olive branch push to cross the aisle, even if it is a one-off voting decision.

The crux on the ballot
When Dems in office already take their “blue” vote for granted and tend to ignore their non-conservative constituents reaching out them – resulting on them often fall short on ballot participation, what makes you think they would be listening to their opposition? I said it at the beginning of this article, Dems in office tend to be smug. And that is why a lot of people who do vote blue, do so, not because they like their elected leader, but because they are savvy enough to understand how unpalatable would be if they didn’t at least try to avoid having the opposition in charge.
That is why there is no shortage of independent and democrats challenging the Dem incumbents in office right now. Messaging is about understanding not only their little jurisdiction, but how the ENTIRE geopolitical (to include domestic) issues affect the big picture. Because every district, every electorate, every demographic are part of the big picture. The problem is that staffs tend not to understand what the campaign needs, and they sabotage their efforts – and their own jobs, because the message is not aligned.
I’ve been looking at all the Democrat races for this next term, especially for the 2025 election – which most people are not tracking it is happening. And guess what? Even on the same tickets, they act more like solo acts than an actual coalition. Meanwhile MAGA tickets are all aligned and you can draw very direct links between wedge issues they push at the national (and international) level.
The Dems are losing because they are playing the wrong sport on the battlefield. It is like a bunch of bench-warmers are playing golf when the opposition is playing football while tackling their every move. As I said, once you see it, you cannot unsee it, and it is frustrating AF.
I know all this might fall in deaf ears, because a lot of Dems have a very short attention span. But I write this as a time capsule. I’ve pestered the elected leaders’ offices directly… and yes… that too might be a time capsule, because last I checked, they remain outmaneuvered, although they are marginally improving. The question is, will it be too late by the time they get their heads off their own caboose? I’ll write about it for sure. The next pivotal election is in November 2025. HLC
